Was Salman Khan-Mumbai CP Vivek Phansalkar meet a courtesy visit?

Bollywood actor Salman Khan on Friday met Mumbai Police Commissioner Vivek Phansalkar, and officials have said it was a courtesy visit. However, sources said that Khan met Phansalkar regarding a weapons licence which he has applied for, after a threat note was found near his residence earlier in June.

A letter was left on a bench saying that Khan and his father Salim would meet the fate of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala, who was shot dead by local gangsters in Punjab. At the end of the note was written GB and LB, the police assumed that GB means gangster Goldy Brar and LB is gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, both of whom have earlier threatened Khan in the black buck case.

Sources have said that since the black buck case is pending before the Supreme Court, Khan cannot get a weapons licence. However, sources have said that since he has received threats and the same gang has tried to kill him in the past, as per the report of Delhi special cell, the authorities can review his application.

The threat case is being investigated by Bandra police and there has been no progress in it. Officials of the crime branch visited Delhi and interrogated the accused in the Moose Wala murder case, but haven't found the involvement of the Bishnoi gang so far.
