Aaditya Thackeray at the rock climbing facility in SGNP on Sunday
Citizens will soon be able to treat themselves to a game of adrenalin rush and patience at the Sanjay Gandhi National Park that got a rock climbing facility on Sunday.
Environment Minister Aaditya Thackeray inaugurated the facility. "Earlier today, I was at the SGNP with trained enthusiasts of rock climbing to inaugurate the rock climbing location. I'm thankful to @MahaForest and SGNP team for their support to such activities that add to the charm of the city," said the minister on Twitter.
Officials said they may not immediately open the rock climbing facility to the citizens considering the COVID-19 pandemic. "It was also an honour to meet with our SGNP wildlife rescue team, inaugurate a new vehicle for them, discuss the leopard collar project that they've undertaken to track the urban interaction of the leopards. @MahaForest also discussed their plans for conservation & awareness." Thackeray added.
