Mumbai: 27-Hour Long Mega Block At Central Line As Railway Dismantles 150 Year Old Carnac Bridge

The Central Railway (CR) has taken a 27-hour megablock from November 19 night to dismantle the British-era Carnac Bridge between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) and Masjid Bunder station in south Mumbai. More than 37 lakh commuters are likely to be affected by the special block. Central Railway`s Mumbai suburban network operates over 1,800 local trains on the `Harbour` and `Main` lines, which originate in south Mumbai.
