Claims Baba Ramdev, returning to Delhi three weeks after he was bundled out from here

It was a resounding return for Baba Ramdev in the Capital on Sunday. Holding a press conference here, he attacked the government claiming that it has no will to fight corruption or create a Lokpal to check the menace.

"I would continue this fight against corruption and I am not a mask for anyone but the mask of 120 crore people. We will stand with anyone, any party, any religion ufffdThe issue is important not the individual. This government has no will to fight corruption," he said.

Terming the crackdown in Ramlila Maidan as "murder of democracy", he alleged it was aimed at eliminating him and that there were "attempts to rape women" by drunken men during the police action.

On his attempt to escape from Ramlila Maidan disguised as a woman, Ramdev said he did not flee and claimed that he had offered arrest but the police did not carry it out.

"I did not want to die the death of a wolf, I did not want to die the death of an animal, I did not want to die at the hands of police which has become the puppet of the government. So I decided to escape," Ramdev said.
"There was threat to my life. They (police) wanted to kill me during the crackdown," he said. Ramdev along with his supporters were on fast on the twin issues of corruption and black money.

Baba comes calling

A large number of his supporters had gathered outside the hospital but were prevented by police from entering. Police were deployed in abundance outside the hospital to ensure that no untoward incident takes place. Senior officials were at the hospital leading the police contingent including even DCP Centre, Vivek Kishore and Joint Commissioner of police, Northern range.
