In his suicide note, the deceased has blamed his brother and niece of harassing him and demanding moneyIt's a family affair. After being harassed by his niece and brother for Rs 15 lakh, a 35-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by consuming poisonous substances in Bhalswa Dairy area of northwest Delhi. The deceased identified as Faiyaz alias Guddu has left a suicide note behind in which he has accused his relatives of framing him in a false rape case and demanding Rs 15 lakh.
"Arsi Abdulla and Aallu Kamr were demanding Rs 15 lakh from me.u00a0 I have no money and am committing suicide. They should be held guilty for my death," read the suicide note which is with MiD DAY.
Faiyaz was running a stitching centre in the area. His family members alleged that he was being harassed by his 20-year-old niece and brother for quite a long time. The deceased's family said that he was asked to give Rs 15 lakh by his niece that he was unable to pay.
"Salma, his niece has given a complaint to local police that she was raped by Faiyaz. Police approached our home and said that they will book him in rape case. In the meantime, Salma put up a condition before Faiyaz and demanded Rs 15 lakh to take back her complaint," said Shahnaz, wife of the deceased.
After that Salma was allegedly calling up Faiyaz daily for the money, but he was unable to pay. "Arsi had to buy a flat for which she was demanding money. Faiyaz was living in depression after she made rape allegations against him. Then he committed suicide," said Shahnaz. Senior police officials of the district were contacted by MiD DAY, but they were tight-lipped over the matter.
