'I don't want my show to be gossipy'

WE caught up with Farah Khan as she patiently waited for her hairstylist to do her hair ("I hate the make-up and hair part"). The director/ choreographer/and now chat show host chatted with us, her trademark wit and candour intact.



On the show
I have worked with Star on Nach Baliye and Jo Jeeta Wohi Superstar, so we were talking ideas. While I wanted to do a talk show with commoners, Star felt I should get my friends from the industry to share things from
their lives which they otherwise would not.

Producing it
Yes, it's my first production. My company is called Three's Company and it's for my three babies. I didn't want to cater to any other producer.

Getting friends to talk personal
It's not really difficult, I didn't want this show to make them uncomfortable. We called them as per the different themes and there are these 10 questions which they have begun to dread and are asked on all the other shows, those I don't ask, simply because my research is in place. And yes, they also have the freedom to tell me after the shoot if they want some things out, as I know sometimes when you are talking you can get carried away in the moment. I have, many times, put my foot into my mouth and then lived to regret it (laughs). I don't want my show to be gossipy.

Editing Salman's and his mother's quotes on his prison stint
No, I didn't have to edit at all. They both were sweet and comfortable. In fact, Salman made things so light and easy, it was a breeze shooting with them.

A difficult time making Hrithik talk (about his stutter)
Yeah, it required the maximum prodding, maybe because it's a very personal matter and Hrithik hasn't spoken about it ever. In fact, people had warned me that he won't talk about it. But he did and I am happy because it sends out a message to viewers, that if he could conquer these problems, they too could.

Shah Rukh khan not opening your show?
Because his episode is the finale of my show. I wanted it that way, Salman to start it and SRK to end it.
