Get your half-way dose to heaven this whole week with delectable pastries handcrafted by the master chef
The aromas of potent espressos and freshly baked bread, the Boulevards, bistros and patisseries is what France could be all about. If you have a tooth that's sweet you might want to head to this star hotel on MG Road's Patisserie for their French Pastry Fest, which is on till this Sunday for delectable pastries created by Le Cordon Bleu master chef Christian Faure.
The fest that was launched yesterday in the city saw chef Christian Faure sharing his secret recipes, said, "I hope that everytime Bangaloreans taste one of our delicacies, they will feel an attachment to French culture and culinary arts, and more importantly our love for food. At the end of the week-long fest, I hope that you'll come to love French pastry as much as I do."
Some of the delectables to sample include Macaroons, Small almond cakes, Pears poached in red wine and Classic apple tart. Ponder Christian on what he likes making best in his pattiserrie and he will quickly wink and reply with a smile, "Love".
"Pastry making is an art and the preparation of it," says the chef, "is like foreplay before love making". One of the recent awards to his credit include the 'Pastry Chef of the Year 2010' from the Canadian Culinary Federation for his dedication to the craft of cooking.
If you like to become a French Patissier too, then impress the judges with your French savoir-faire and email your photo to india@sopexa.com with your dessert and recipe and get a chance to win a Le Cordon Blue prize. Final date for entries is December 27. Check out 'I love French Pastry' on facebook.
