Reigning billiards champion Pankaj Advani gets candid about his desire to act in a Bollywood movie, walk the ramp, his idea of an ideal life partner and of course, his game
Cricket is a religion in India. Where does billiards stand?
We've champion players in every sport, but it's just that the system here is a bit haywire. We are paying more attention to games that bring in money. It's high time we change our priorities and treat all sports equally.
People say there is too much glamour in cricket. What do you think needs to be done with billiards?
Billiards is a visually pleasing sport and there's so much that can be done. According to me, Bollywood stars should be roped in to add to the glamour quotient and more exhibition matches should be organised so that people get to know the game.
Almost all sportsmen are endorsing some brand or the other. Which brand would you like to be associated with?
Since billiards is a formal sport and requires formal dressing, I may endorse either a suit line or a watch.
You had said you would love to walk the ramp. Which designeru00a0 would you like to walk for?
I want to make it clear that I don't want to take up modelling as a career. But I am open to new things in life and would definitely love to try modelling if I get some interesting offers. Actually, I would love to be a show-stopper someday and walk for Rohit Bal.
You seem to be fashion conscious.
Not exactly. In fact, my knowledge about fashion is not so great and hence, I wear what suits me and what I'm comfortable in.
You are peppy and good looking. Do you have any plans of venturing into Bollywood?
Of course, I have given it a thought, but it all depends on time. I am quite passionate about dancing and will love to be paired with somebody as young as me.
What about marriage? What is your idea of an ideal life partner?
As of now, I'm single. I believe that the person you intend to spend your life with should be on the same wavelength as you and both should respect each other's personal space. Basically, I want a partner who's understanding and can gel well with my family and friends.
