A police officer, accused of abducting a businessman, has now put a probing journalist behind bars.
Deputy commissioner of police (south division) S Ravi foisted a false complaint and arrested a TV journalist when the latter asked for his reactions. As the news spread,u00a0 journalists staged a protest in front of the DCP's office. City police commissioner S M Bidari promised to initiate an inquiry and take necessary action. Ravi is alleged to have abducted a Tamil Nadu businessman to force him to sign a land deal. This was done to help Ravi's friend, a newspaper report alleged. The businessman managed to escape and file a complaint with the police commissioner who has ordered an inquiry.
