"I purchased the house from Kartar Singh, who was the owner of this property, and then started living in that house with my family. Manju lived in a separate room on the same floor. On July 3 at around 5pm, the police came to my residence and forced me to leave the house in the absence of my husband Bhalesingh Bhati (who is working in Delhi Jal Board as a worker) without any prior notice. When I confronted the SHO asking for reasons he said that the house did not belong to me. I even produced original documents of the house but in spite of checking the papers he threatened and molested me. The police called for a Tata truck and around 20-25 constables from the police station. Our belongings were forcibly thrown out and loaded onto the truck," said Rachna Devi.
