Meet the new kids on the rock, fresh from entertaining US troops in the Persian Gulf, rock newcomers Saving Abel kick off the Indian leg of their tour with two big dates in Bangalore.

Hailing from the small town of Corinth, Mississippi, USA, the band boasts a southern-edged alternative rock sound that rock fans will love the moment they lend an ear. In fact, lead singer Jared Weeks is convinced that you'll be a fan from the first listen, "You know when you hear a song on the radio and you don't know who it is, but you love it and feel like you've heard it before? That's our band! The first time someone hears us, they go, 'I know that band!' and then very soon you would hear a, 'no, it's a brand-new song and band.' Saving Abel has an accessible and comfortable sound---you HAVE heard us before."

Weeks joined forces with lead guitarist Jason Null in 2004 to combine his literal, storytelling lyrical style with Null's musical family background. Gradually the band came together with Scott Bartlett, bassist Eric Taylor and drummer Blake Dixon, and got its big break in 2006 when they were signed to Virgin Records to record their debut self-titled album.

Saving Abel is the first band to have three top five rock hits off their debut release: "Addicted," and their independent EP originals "18 Days," and "Drowning (Face Down)". "Addicted," was actually the song that first got them noticed by Virgin records and became a rock hit, reaching number seven on the Billboard chart.

After touring with Canadian rock stars Nickleback last year the band have come back with a new single.

Combining their narrative lyrics with big riffs and memorable melodies, they're now touring India to release their polished combination of Southern and Alternative rock, 'Sex is Good'. And with Bangalore boasting not one but two chances to see the southern boys, there is no reason you will need to rock to their sexual innuendos.
