Another accident owing to a burst tyre claimed the life of a 40-year-old man and injured three other fellow passengers on the Pune-Mumbai Expressway. The incident took place on the Kivale bridge at 10.30 pm on Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as Amarnath Mahadev Kalekar (40), while the injured persons are Manju Jagannath Kalekar (35), Gaurav Jagannath Kalekar (4) and Jagannath Mahadev Kalekar (30). They are all residents of Borivli in Mumbai, and were heading towards Solapur from Mumbai when the accident took place.
According to Dehu Road police, Amarnath was driving the car. When they had reached the Kivale Bridge on the E-way, the front tyre of the car burst and Amarnath lost control of the vehicle, after which the car fell from the bridge. The injured persons have been admitted to a private hospital in Nigdi for further treatment. u00a0
