The incident took place in Mahatma Phule Peth where they working on the construction of a public toilet. While Sharafuddin Shaikh (50), a resident of Kondhwa, died in the mishap, three got injured and were rushed to the hospital.
"We left for the spot soon after we got the information. However, before we could reach, the locals had already rescued two labourers," said Fire Brigade Station Officer Pramod Sonawane.
The fire brigade staff removed the other two labors that were trapped under the rubble, and rushed them to Sassoon Hospital.
"One of them was brought dead, while the condition of the other person is stable," said Medical Superintendent of Sassoon Hospital Dr D G Kulkarni.
"As it was the construction of public toilet, we would enquire about the matter with the PMC," said Inspector Rajendra Kadam of Khadak police station.u00a0
