Patna: About 12,500 km of roads would be built under 'Grameen Tola Sampark Nischay Yojana' (GTSNY) to connect hamlets having more than 100 population in Bihar.

During a high level meeting attended by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to review the GTSNY of Rural Works Department, its Secretary Vinay Kumar gave a detailed presentation about the scheme before the CM, a press release said.

The Secretary said there are 15,746 hamlets, having more than 100 population do not have road connectivity in the state, the release said. About 12,500 km of roads would be built under the scheme in order to connect 15,746 hamlets having more than 100 population with all good weather roads in the state and around 2,200 acres of land would be acquired for the purpose, the Secretary said at the meeting.

The Chief Minister gave necessary directions to the officials besides discussing the various aspects of the scheme, the release said.

The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Anjani Kumar Singh, Chief Minister's Principal Secretary Chanchal Kumar, Rural Development Department's Secretary Arvind Choudhary, Chief Minister's Secretary Manish Kumar Verma and other senior officials of Rural Works Department.
