2 minors, woman suspected in burglary case

A police case has been registered against two unidentified minor children and a woman who were spotted outside a burgled flat in Pushkar society in Nigdi on Monday afternoon.


A police case has been registered against two unidentified minor children and a woman who were spotted outside a burgled flat in Pushkar society in Nigdi on Monday afternoon. The suspects were seen fleeing the spot by a society resident, who informed the owner of the flat on the phone. After the owner returned home and went over his flat, it became known that gold ornaments worth Rs 1.5 lakh had been stolen.

Flat owner Hemant Shantilal Sarnout (37), a resident of Sector 27 of Pradhikaran in Nigdi, filed a complaint at the Nigdi police station. The police registered a case under Sections 380 and 454 of the Indian Penal Code against the suspects.

Sarnout, who works in a private company, said in his complaint that he had left his residence in the morning on Monday. He said around 1 am, he received a call from his neighbour Jitendra Munot informing him that some kind of noise was coming from his flat and an unknown woman and two minor children had been seen outside it.
Sarnout said he returned home to find the door latch broken and gold ornaments missing from the cupboard.
