A 22-year-old man from Kharadi allegedly committed suicide in the wee hours of Saturday reportedly owing to stress after his bike was stolen a couple of days ago. A suicide note was found in his house.
The deceased, identified as Nilesh Nikam, was working as a driver with a private company in Kalyaninagar.
"Nikam's suicide note said a girl whom he loved should not be held responsible for his decision," said PSI Suresh Gholap from the Yerawada police station.
"We came to know from his uncle that he was trying to sell his bike. A couple of days ago a person took his bike but did not turn up to pay him. He was under stress as a result."u00a0 Nikam's body was found when his sister went to meet him at his rented flat. His parents had gone to Parner in Ahmednagar.
In another incident, a 30-year-old man from Mumbai committed suicide at the Rajmachi point in Lonavala by plunging down. The police found his body on Friday evening after he was reported missing on April 18. The Lonavala city police identified the deceased as Suresh Laxman Sonkamble (30), an Andheri resident. He was suffering from a disease and he might have ended his life because of that, said his family.
