A scared Saluja then allegedly pushed Tarpe from his bike after riding for a few metres. This caused injuries to Tarpe on his right hand and left foot. Tarpe managed to catch Saluja since the bike had also slowed down after he fell. Saluja lives near Deepbangla Chowk on Senapati Bapat Road.u00a0

PSI S K Gaikwad from the Khadki police station said Saluja rode recklessly after pushing Tarpe off in frantic bid to escape. "We have booked him under Sections 353 and 279 of the IPC for obstruction of duty of a government official and rash driving respectively. Several sections of the Motor Vehicle Act have also been added since he was not carrying vehicle papers," Gaikwad said.
