Railway police have arrested three men for assaulting a youth and abetting his suicide.
The deceased, Ajay Dnyaneshwar Shivle (25) from Chakan, was having an affair with a girl. However, their union was not accepted by the girl's family and opposed Shivle from the beginning. On March 13, the girl's family members abducted Ajay and assaulted him.
'Humiliated'
Unable to bear the humiliation of being beaten up and refused in love, Ajay decided to take his life and committed suicide near Pune railway station on the same day.
The arrested suspects have been identified as Prakash Hajare (25), Sairaj Ghate (28) and Sainath Ghate (27).
However, investigating officials added that 11 of their accomplices were still absconding and police were on the lookout for them.
