Faridabad: With the arrest of three persons, crime branch of Faridabad police claimed to have busted the 'gulel' gang allegedly involved in stealing of laptops from parked cars.
The accused identified as Shahrukh, Prakash and Amit, all residents of Delhi, were arrested for stealing laptops from the cars by breaking the window panes with a 'gulel' (catapault), Sub Inspector Anil Kumar said here today. The trio would allegedly use catapults to break the windows of cars and then steal laptops from inside the car, he said.
Five laptops have been recovered from the accused, he said, adding that the trio has admitted committing 10 such thefts starting since January, Kumar said.
Two theft cases each were registered at the Sarai Khwaja and sector-7 police stations, while four were reported from police station central and one each in old Faridabad and NIT areas here, police added.
