A 35-Year-Old man attempted suicide by consuming poison late last night.
A resident of Thergaon near Hinjewadi, he was admitted to the Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial hospital, and doctors said his condition was critical but stable.
The man was identified as Manoj Kumar Sharma, a resident of Ashoka Society in Thergaon. Sharma's friend Kanharan Mohanram Nayak admitted him to hospital.
The police recorded Nayak's statement and initiated appropriate legal action in the case.
Sharma was working with a private company.
"We live at the same place and on Sunday night were alone at home," said Nayak. "Around 9 pm Sharma consumed something, after which he fell unconscious.
Later, when I noticed him in that condition with a bottle nearby, I rushed him to the hospital."
The police said Sharma was brought to YCMu00a0 at 10.20 pm.
