Visual treat in store for city's party set with introduction of three-dimensional thrills

The city will live it up in 3D style. For the first time, party hoppers in the city will witness a 3D party this weekend. Popular VJ Nikhil Chinapa's Submerge Entertainment will introduce the first 3D experience in the city.
The event called 'The TRON' will have international DJ Christopher Lawrence, who will be responsible to get the party grooving.

New dimension to celebrations: The concept of 3D parties is being brought to India from the United Kingdom

Special glasses
For the 3D visuals, customised glasses will be distributed to the guests. The concept, which is brought in from the United Kingdom, has been tried and tested in 20 countries before. In India, it will be held at Mumbai, Hyderabad and Bangalore.

Six huge screens will be put up on the walls for the 1,000 odd guests who are expected to be present. Arnold Wilson, marketing manager, Submerge Entertainment said, "We haven't done an event on such a big scale. We will have both ufffd video and music jockeys. Since we are associating with the movie ufffdThe Tron, we will also screening clippings from the film."u00a0

The same company had earlier organised 'Silent Noise' in January, another interesting party concept where partygoers were given earphones. But, this concept failed to draw in crowds. In fact, there were no repeat performances after that.

Wilson added, "We are not trying to feed people with five hours of 3D music and screening. There would be an opening set by a local DJ. After that 'Disco D', a set of DJs will play for about 60-90 minutes. We will also have Lawrence, a popular DJ playing at the party. We are planning to repeat this concept in the city after 3-4 months."

Partygoers excited
Meanwhile partygoers are excited about this new concept and do not mind trying it out once.

Althea D'Costa, an IT professional who likes partying every Saturday said, "If they have something new to offer apart from music, I do not have an issue going there. Rarely are new concepts tried out at night clubs in the city."

Debendra Mohanty, an employee with a brokerage firm added that the concept of 3-D is interesting. "We party every Saturday and if a night club is offering both 3D clippings of a movie and music, then its sounds like fun."u00a0u00a0
