Four persons have been killed in different road accidents in the past 48 hours in the city. In the first accident, a 30-year-old unidentified pedestrian was mowed down by an unknown vehicle on Tuesday night near Suruchi hotel on Pune-Banglore highway


Four persons have been killed in different road accidents in the past 48 hours in the city. In the first accident, a 30-year-old unidentified pedestrian was mowed down by an unknown vehicle on Tuesday night near Suruchi hotel on Pune-Banglore highway. The Bharti Vidyapeeth police have lodged a complaint against an unknown driver. In the second accident that took place on Sinhgad road in the same night, an unidentified footpath dweller died after he came under a rear wheel of a private luxury bus near Dandekar bridge.

The Dattawadi police have registered a complaint against the bus driver.u00a0Truck driver Nazir Ahamad Sayyad (30), a resident of Indapur, has been arrested. The third accident took place in Mundhwa. Sanjay Sambhaji Gaikwad(27), a resident of Keshav Nagar, died after he was knocked down by a water tanker on Ghorpuri-Mundhwa road on Tuesday evening.

Tanker driver Bhagwat Palwade (19) has been booked for negligence and rash driving. The fourth incident happen yesterday morning when Amol Madhukar Sonawane, a resident of Parvati, was killed as his two-wheeler was hit by a speeding truck at Parnakuti Chowk in Yerawada. He was on his way home when the incident took
place.
