Domestic help prime suspect. Rs 1 lakh cash and gold jewellery stolen
A 42-year-old woman was murdered at her home in Rohini area of Outer Delhi on Tuesday. Police said that the deceased, identified as Promila Shukla, was found with her throat slit behind a sofa on the first floor of her house.
Rs 1 lakh cash and gold jewellery was reported missing from the house. "Prima facie it appears to be the work of their newly-recruited domestic help Karan, asu00a0 he has been missing after the incident," said a senior police officer.
The officer said that Promila's husband Jay Prakash is a businessman and he was not in city when the incident occurred. Her 22-year-old son Girivar was sleeping on the first floor of the house.
"In the morning, Girivar found his mother lying in a pool of blood and the main door locked from outside. He then called his friend and asked him to break the lock. Police were called at around 11:30 am," said the officer.u00a0
The neighbours of the deceased told the police that they saw Karan going out of home in the morning and an hour later they came to know Promila was murdered.
"Karan was hired through a placement agency in the area. He is a native of West Bengal and the motive behind murder was the theft," said the police officer.
