Official claims that they want to send a stern message to establishments. From this year, PMC has started filing cases against citizens who are causing multiplication of the insects, under Bombay Provincial Municipal Corporation (BPMC) Act 1949. Till date, around 414 suspected dengue cases have been reported in PMC areas since January.
19 cases have been filed by the vector borne disease control department of PMC so far against various establishments. Of these, eight cases were recorded yesterday. "Initially, we sent them notices following procedures, and when they failed to act we have filed court cases against them.
Most of the building sites had mosquito breeding spots in water storage tanks and ducts," informed Dr. Vaishali Jadhav, assistant medical officer of health and head of vector borne disease control department of PMC. u00a0
