The India-England match was not only a much awaited treat for avid cricket fans alone, but also for some social groups who saw the opportunity as a platform to propagate their message.

Social workers of 'Stop Corruption' and 'End Polio' thronged the stadium with flyers and T-shirts carrying their message and also interacted with cricket fans.

"End Polio Now" social organization from Bhatkal in coastal Karnataka was in the city for the past two days and yesterday, members made rounds of the gates announcing the importance of ending polio in India.

Nitin, CEO of the organisation said, "We are in Bangalore to campaign and we purchased tickets for the match and distributed flyers outside the stadium. We believe that we have successfully spread our message about polio."

'India Against Corruption', a Delhi-based organisation with a branch in Bangalore, advocates that people should come forward to end corruption. Karthik, city co-coordinator said, "We want the youth to fight against corruption to ensure that the corrupt are sent to jail, and their ill-gotten wealth confiscated."
