Adventure Echoes is a 3,000-member community that shares the passion of outdoor activities
If you're the adventure sorts, let your hunt for action end here Adventure Echoes, a community, started by Girish Kulkarni (27) and his father in 2002. "I am a spontaneous athlete and Adventure Echoes was something that happened to me naturally."
Like-minded people from different professions joined this community for their passion of outdoor adventure activities. "When we take trekkers to forts, it is an attempt to create awareness about our glorious history. It also infuses courage, patience, determination, leadership, confidence, team spirit and love for the environment in each trekker," added Girish.
The community has 3,000 members and some of the memorable visits include a trek to Rohtang Pass in 2008.
"We were stuck in four feet of snow for around eight hours," recalled Girish. A visit to the Kanha National Park in April brought the members face to face with a tiger. "We have been trying to clean the environment around Tikona Fort, near Pune, for the last one year," said Girish. The community also held workshops in schools during Wild Life Week October 1 to 7.
Besides treks, this group organises hiking, canoeing, camping, rock climbing, mountain biking, jungle safaris and adventure racing.
