About 2,000 police personnel, along with the city's own elite Force One will join hands with Air Force commandos for security cover at the Aero India show 2011 which is set to take off today. Commandos of the Air Force, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and the police will be guarding Yelahanka Air Base, the venue of the show.
The CISF anti-sabotage personnel will be deployed inside the area to thwart any possible attacks. A large number of surveillance cameras have also been installed in the area, to keep a close watch on the public thronging the venue to witness the show.
ACP T Sunil Kumar said that the police have been asked to take care of piloting the VVIP movement, gates and road security. The officers have been directed to keep a regular check with their officials to exchange inputs. Anti-sabotage systems, including bomb disposal and dog squads along with fire and emergency service staff and paramedical staff have also been deployed. Commissioner Shankar Bidari said,"We have taken all measures to see that no untoward incident is reported during the event."
