If you thought your umbrella with that fancy lace border is the best that the quirk market has to offer, check out this brand new design that's selling like hot samosas this season
If you don't want to get lost among a sea of black and gloomy umbrella-toting Mumbaikars and polka dots are not your thing, designer Kanika Jain has a solution. Her latest creation, the Airavata umbrella, lets you make a statement with its mad, graphic prints. The 27-year old alumnus of Sir JJ School of Applied Arts, has been creating bean bags, diaries, murals, wall paintings, playing cards and personalised wall hangings under her label, Iktaara. Her latest creation features Airavata, the mythological white elephant blessed with seven trunks, who is believed to carry Indra, the rain god.

But there is a twist in the tale or should we say, design. "The white guy brings along with him samosas, cutting chai and paper boatsu00a0-- all perfect monsoon accompaniments," says Jain about the umbrella trimmed with a rainbow pattern border.
"When I thought of the design and executed it, I figured I was late; we were already a month into the monsoon. But to my surprise, the response has been great. Most stores I stock my products with are already out of stock as far as the Airavata umbrella goes," says Jain. Jain also customises umbrellas. Give her a call, share your design whims, and you have a personalised brolly.
