A Delhi court Thursday granted interim bail to Rajya Sabha member and former Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh till Sep 19 on medical grounds.
The MP, in custody for alleged involvement in the 2008 cash-for-votes scam, had undergone a kidney transplant and has been unwell for a while.
The court was to pronounce its order on Amar Singh's interim bail plea Tuesday but posted it for further arguments after his health deteriorated and he was admitted to AIIMS.
According to medical reports submitted to the court, the 55-year-old leader is suffering from urinary tract infection, diarrhoea, dehydration and diabetes and needs to be in hospital for some more time.
