Indian Air Force will be offering jobs to DU graduates
With the vocational courses in Delhi University catching up on the popularity charts, placements have become an integral affair of the academic activities. The varsity had instituted a placement cell for the purpose and it is expecting that several MNCs would descend on the campus this year beginning today, when the placement drive begins.

On the first day of the placement drive, for the first time, Indian Air Force and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) would be offering jobs to students. Indian Air Force would require post-graduate science students who have studied Physics and Maths during graduation.
"Science is a sector, which is not touched by companies at the post-graduation level. The public sector coming in has made for a good start," said Gurpreet Singh Tuteja, Deputy Dean Students Welfare, Delhi University.
The focus has been on the science stream this year. Chemical, electronics and KPOs are expected to offer jobs to the students. Scholars would be making a beeline for jobs with Wipro Wase, HCL, TCS and several research firms.
Delhi University Proctor Dr Gurmeet Singh expressed the hope that things will improve. "We had started the placement programme in a modest manner, but this year the response of companies is very good. They would be coming in great numbers this year."
"I have enrolled for placement this time, I am interested in electronics and the mobile industry, and I find it very hip. The university is all geared up for placements this year as last year was all dry because of recession. Students want to make the most of it as prospects seem good this year," said Parul Sinha, a final year B Sc student at Kirorimal College.
