Close on the heels of the dismissal of an inspector and suspension of a couple of officers, a sub-inspector attached to the Subramanyapura police station has been suspended for trying to work out an out-of-court settlement between an attempt-to-murder accused and the complainant. Sadananda, sub-inspector, Subramanyapura police station, was suspended on Thursday for negligence and bad behaviour on duty.
A month ago in Uttarahalli BMTC Depot No 33, Traffic Controller (TC) Krishna Murthy had a clash with conductor Ravi Kumar while they were both on duty on the depot premises. When the conversation got heated, Kumar allegedly attacked Murthy with a razor and injured him. Krishna went to the Subramanyapura station to lodge a complaint and Ravi was booked for attempt to murder. When Sadananda tried to settle the case out of court, Krishna got angry and did not agree to it. Krishna filed a complaint with the Commissioner of Police, S M Bidari.
Bidari appointed an ACP to investigate and submit a report. Sadananda was found guilty, following which Bidari issued suspension orders.
