They get a share of profits from owners, say senior police officersu00a0
Sunday's raid on a restaurant led to the arrest of three performers but not the owner. Senior police officials think information leaked by the local police helped him escape. Senior officers say that live bands thrive because the local police get a share in the profits. As a result, though police have arrested cashier Suraj and Jayprakash Pandey, another employee at Brigade Garden Bar and Restaurant, owner Y R Manohar escaped.
Farzana, Afsana and Muskaan, who were caught, told police that they were from Jaipur and were working for Manohar on a profit-sharing basis. "The women would share the money, showered on them by customers, with Manohar on a 50-50 basis," said a police officer, adding, the owner had given them a rented house in Ulsoor to stay.
