Shutter Bugs Photography Club encourages you to pursue your hobby
If you like to experiment with your camera and click pictures for fun, then Shutter Bugs Photography Club is the place where you can pursue this passion as a hobby.
Founded in March 2008 by photojournalist Sumeet Shahane (35), the group accepts people of all ages and even those who want to learn photography.
"I am shutterbug since I bought an SLR camera and I feel happy when I take snaps," said Shahane.
"I used to conduct workshops and one day, decided to start a club where like-minded people can come together and enjoy various aspects of photography," he added.

The plan fell into place when some students approached Shahane. Today, the boasts ofu00a0 228 members. "There could not have been a better and more suitable name for the club, as the term shutterbug is synonymous with photography," explained Shahane.
The club organises two photo exhibitions every year in June and December. It also conducts monthly workshops, which include outdoor shoots to interesting spots in the city. If the turnout is large, the monthly meetings take place at the Sambhaji Park on J M Road on the first Sunday of every month.
Mangesh Agnihotri (29), a software engineer, said, "I was interested in photography since childhood and I am glad I joined the club, where I learnt more aboutu00a0 shutter speed, aperture and light adjustments. The different techniques have helped me improve my photos."
Nature's delight
Mahesh Jog (42), an IT professional, said, "I am a very adventurous person and I enjoy clicking pictures of nature."
Meena Kinker, who works in the Income Tax department and is the only woman member of the club, said, "I pursue photography as a hobby."
