Four armed robbers struck at a jewellery shop in Palam in south west Delhi on Tuesday and made away with 1.5 kg gold jewellery.


Four armed robbers struck at a jewellery shop in Palam in south west Delhi on Tuesday and made away with 1.5 kg gold jewellery.

A senior police official said that the incident occurred at around 3 pm. "The 50-year-old jeweller Hari Ram Aggarwal said in his statement that he was alone at the shop when four persons came there posing as the customers.

They asked him to show some gold jewellery and when he did, they suddenly pulled out firearms. Though he tried to raise an alarm but the robbers tied him up, took the jewellery and fled from there. The victim somehow managed to free himself and called the police," said the official.

The official added that the jeweller suspected that one of his employeesu00a0 whom he had sacked some time back could be behind the incident.
