Apparently upset after being punished by his senior, an army jawan on Wednesday shot dead his superior and injured another in Kalakote belt of Rajouri district, 120 km from here.
The jawan Kuljeet fired indiscriminately at his senior, company havaldar Major RV Yadav, at 63 RR headquarters in Mithiani area of Kalakote, police said.
In the firing, Yadav was killed on the spot while another jawan identified as Sudesh Pani was injured. Police said Kuljeet was upset after being punished by Yadav for not attending the morning drill and parade.
Kuljeet is absconding since then. Army has ordered a court of inquiry into the incident.
