"This was the first action against the mango vendors this season and we conducted the raid after receiving information that carbide powder, which is dangerous for human consumption, was being used to ripen mangoes," food safety officer Pradya Surase, who conducted the raid with three other FDA officers in Panghanti Chowk said.
