As intrusion by the Chinese into Arunachal Pradesh is a matter of growing concern, the Chinese man who was arrested from Lohit district in Arunachal Pradesh on suspicion of being a 'spy' on May 18 made some shocking revelations about police atrocities in China and their government's hostility towards Muslims.u00a0u00a0
Guan Liang alias Gevin was apparently chased by the Chinese police afteru00a0 he sent an e-mail to the International Human Rights Commission seeking intervention against violation by the Chinese army and the police. The Chinese police raided the restaurant he was working for in Beijing, after which he fled from the country.u00a0
Victims of genocide
"Liang was arrested while on the way to near Sunpora (Lohit district) after crossing the Digaru River last month," said Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Manik Gogoi, who questioned Liang.u00a0
The 28-year-old Chinese revealed that Muslims are victims of genocide in China. "Thousands of Muslims were killed by the Chinese government in Xinjiang province. Around 50 to 60 are killed every year," Liang told MiD DAY.
Fearing for their lives, around 300 Chinese flee the country every year and mostu00a0 enter India from Arunachal Pradesh. "The Indo-Sino border near Kibithu is from where 90 per cent of the Chinese trespass into India," Liang added.
The escape
Liang, who hails from Zhuma Diang village in Luohe city under Henan district of China, also sneaked into Arunachal through Kibithu in Anjaw district after crossing Tibet on foot.
It took 70 days for him to travel from China to Arunachal. He left China on February 16 this year and went to Tibet before entering India.
Liang is currently being interrogated by the special branch of the Arunachal police, the Home Ministry and the Army Intelligence.
