1 am, thanks to an autorickshaw driver who spotted him at Majestic bus depot.
The driver then took the boy to Ashok Nagar police station last night.
Akshay, a resident of Sarjapura, had run away from his home last morning fearing his father would visit his class teacher as he had not completed his class notes.
His teacher had called his father and complained that he had not completed any of his notes for the last three months.

Akshay's father Devaraj Gowda said, "I told him that I would go to meet his teacher. This scared him and he ran away from the house around 10.30 am."
However, his parents thought that he had gone to his friend's house. When he didn't return home till late afternoon, they got worried and started looking for him.
A cop from Ashok Nagar police station said, "A rickshaw driver spotted the boy, who was crying at the Majestic bus depot. He sensed something amiss and approached him."
The rickshaw driver then asked him his address and brought him to Ashok Nagar police station.
Even after Akshay was taken to the police station, it took him more than an hour to reveal his correct address. "He told us that he was a resident of Chikkaballapur.

However, after an hour, he gave us his correct residential address. Later, he even gave us his father's mobile number," said a cop.
Akshay's brother Rakesh said, "If we had not found him today, it would have been difficult to trace him."
The cops warned Akshay to never repeat this again.
