Lucknow: The state unit of the BJP Thursday questioned Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav's recent visit to the Netherlands and said he failed to get investments for the state.

"Akhilesh Yadav recently went on an official visit to the Netherlands. Other than an MoU of exchange of ideas with a company there, can he explain what take away has he brought back," state BJP spokesman Vijay Bahadur Pathak said.

The comment came after Akhilesh Yadav's statement in Mainpuri Wednesday where he accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of being a "chalu party" and alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had made false promises.

Pathak said that instead of pointing fingers at the prime minister, Yadav should explain his conduct and track record. He said the chief minister had failed to ring in investments from the Netherlands.

Arguing that the poor law and order situation and the grim power scenario in the state were deterrent enough to keep investors away from the state, the BJP leader said the Samajwadi Party (SP) government was fooling people.

"They talk of giving laptops but fail to explain how these will operate in the absence of electricity. They talk of industry but have no answers about the labour unrest in Noida and the poor law and order elsewhere in the state," Pathak said.

He said that Modi in the first 100 days since he assumed office had laid a solid foundation of course correction in the system of governance in the country.
