Union Home Minister P Chidambaram remarks that a new phenomenon of "saffronu00a0terrorism" had been uncovered has left the opposition fuming. "HM should maintain caution in selection of words.
He should apologise for his remarks," BJP spokesperson Ravishankar Prasad said.
The 'saffron terror' issue was raked up in the Rajya Sabha yesterday by the BJP, and the House witnessed two adjournments.
The Congress, however, tried a balancing act by distancing itself from Chidambaram's remarks saying terror had no colour. "Terrorism has only one colour and it is black," Congress general secretary Janardhan Dwivedi said.
