Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa today began a four-day exercise to review the performance of various ministers, after burying the hatchet with some ministerial colleagues who were upset over his style of functioning.
Yeddyurappa has scheduled interactive sessions with ministers and officials of their respective departments to discuss the progress achieved so far and to chalk out plans for the coming years. Official sources said 10 ministers have been invited for discussions on the first day of the exercise.
Yeddyurappa will hold a review meeting tomorrow with Revenue Minister G Karunakara Reddy and his brother and Tourism minister Janardhana Reddy, who, along with some ministers and legislators, had expressed unhappiness over the CM's style of functioning. The sources said the meetings, being held ahead of the extended budget session of the state legislature, would also help the ministers in preparing for the session, where opposition Congress and JDS are expected to attack the government. In the backdrop of revenues dropping due to recession, the meetings would also discuss ways to garner resources for programmes to be announced in the budget, the sources said.
Yeddyurappa will also hold a brain-storming session with top officials on June 26 and 27 in a bid to tone up the administration.
