Last Tuesday, 10 month-old Sakshi Yadav, fell headfirst into a bucket of water while her mother was filling the water near their house.
"She was trying to look into the bucket, but lost control and fell into it. I immediately got her out," said Rita Yadav, Sakhi's mother. The Yadav family, residents of Vile Parle's Nehru Nagar, didn't take the incident seriously at first.u00a0Her father, 30 year-old Sanjay Yadav, said, "We realised that Sakshi was struggling to breathe so we rushed her to Cooper Hospital. The doctors put her on medication but she was still unwell. That evening we brought her to KEM hospital," added Sanjay.
A doctor from the paediatric ward at KEM said, "We had kept her under observation. She is now stable, we are going to discharge her. Water had collected in her chest, which is why she was had trouble breathing. We have removed the water from her chest."u00a0Sakshi lives with her parents and her elder brother who studies in school, her mother is a housewife whereas Sanjay, her father works in a private company at Vile Parle.
