With just three days left for the Khadakwasla bypoll, politicians still seem to be flouting the code of conduct.

MiD DAY saw signboards indicating towards houses in the slum area of Sahkar Nagar were displaying the name of Congress' Aba Bagul, the Opposition leader in the PMC.

"Earlier also, we received complaint against Bagul for displaying his name on various banners and boards.

SEC has given us strict directions to take action against such issues," saidu00a0 Chandrakant Waghmare, head of the Office of the Code of Conduct.

Waghmare said it was the duty of the ward officer to hide the names displayed on the board.

Shiv Sena's Sham Deshpande alleged the SEC was favouring the ruling parties in the state by not applying the poll code on their leaders.

Sandhya Gagare, ward officer of Sahkar Nagar, said: "We have put adhesive tapes on the boards to hide his name. But it seems that the opposition party workers have removed it to play a game against him (Bagul)."
