The latest addition to Bangalore's patisseries, Au Bon Pain is interestingly different and worth every pie (pun intended)
On MG Road, in the heart of Bangalore, a new bakery has opened and we are as happy as we can be! Why do we sound so like a fairytale? Because this bakery seems to belong to another era, with unbelievable prices and food that's really good.u00a0
As we approached the eatery, it was quite an assault on all our senses. An assault that we enjoyed though!

What's really interesting is the wide selection available and the outdoor seating that is perfect to chill out at.u00a0
We found a few delectable sandwiches and all day breakfast eats, cookies, cakes, soups and enough to choose from to keep your mouth watering as you take your tray around making your choices.u00a0
The prices are not bank busting either, and this reviewer left the place with his wallet less empty than it would have been at other eateries.u00a0

Although it is true that the food is good, there are a few small problems with the place that restrict it from reaching true perfection. The seating is outdoors. Fantastic for the fine weather we had on Thursday but dismal and depressing on the cold and wet days that we have been experiencing earlier and probably later this week.
Another flaw is the poor view you experience while seatedu00a0-- the city metro is still being constructed, so right now you have a fine view of it being built: mess and all.
While that may deter some customers, they're no reason to not go out of your way and try one of the fresh new delights that Bangalore now has on offer. It's Christmas after all, who can ever say it's wrong to indulge
Our other reviewers
Aditya Anand: Fantastic concept in a cosmopolitan city like Bangalore. Will definitely go again. The only problem was that billing should have been quicker. I got a soup and by the time I paid it had gone cold.
He ate: Roasted Potato & Chickpea Salad, Potato and Leek Soup.
Nolan Pinto: I've been looking for the perfect place to chill out. Something different from the norm. I've gone to many of the coffee houses in Bangalore looking for a place to relax. This place is different. I absolutely love it.
He ate: Tiramisu.
Priyanjali Ghose: It's all good! Very organized. Nice place for an affordable, quick lunch. Ideal for busy professionals and business people. The salad was light, very fresh, and had a nice Indian touch. Only problem is the outdoor seating. When it gets cold or wet it won't be great but with the current weather it is fine.
She ate: Roasted potato & chickpea salad.
Namita Gupta: It reminds me of a French bistro. It's relaxing, especially in the evenings. It was OK. Price is good, and the service was quick and efficient. But I wouldn't recommend it. Food was pretty standard. Not incredible.
She ate: Chicken Pesto Panini and 2 soups: potato and leek, cream of chicken.
L Romal M Singh: The food was brilliant. I find a croissant is the best way to judge a bakery. This one was perfect. Soft with just a hint of butter. Delicious. I didn't like the pasta with feta cheese, I thought it was very gooey, but I loved the Wonderwichu00a0-- I thought it was the best pick-up sandwich. It was perfectly located, not over the top and had a very nice ambience.u00a0
He ate: A pesto and egg sandwich, a papaya and fruit cup and a pasta
