"We will party hard till 2am. So what if Anjaan did not winu2026The experience was simply explosive," said Amrita, Radio One RJ Anjaan's wife, minutes after the results of the Best Job in the World contest were declared.
Ben Southall, a charity fundraiser and event organiser from Hampshire in England, beat off hot competition from 15 other finalists including RJ Anjaan, to be selected for the $150,000, six-month island caretaker job on the Great Barrier Reef. Among his perks are a three-bedroom luxury villa and buggy to explore the island.
Anjaan's mother Lalitha who runs a charity organisation, The Haven, for underprivileged children in Banashankari, said he owed his talent partly to the blessings and support from his maternal grandfather Yogacharya P A Seshan who topped the IAS in 1956.
"Anjaan discusses every triumph and every failure with his grand dad," said Lalitha.
Describing her son's passion for travel and talking, she said, "Anjaan was adjudged the best speaker in Aurobindo School. He was an avid debater in Mahaveer Jain College too. And, by the time he completed his degree in Christ College he was sure he wanted to be in the entertainment business."
