The film is based on corruption in our political system
Celebrated art film director Shyam Benegal is currently busy giving the final touches to his next film titled Abba Ka Kua. And like Benegal's Welcome to Sajjanpur, this film too will be a comic caper but will be based on corruption that exists in our political system.
Ashok Mishra, who has scripted the film, said, "It's a hilarious film, which focuses on the conventional mindset of government employees and their corrupt practices."

The film that stars actors like Boman Irani, Minissha Lamba, Sameer Dattani, Ravi Kishen and Sonali Kulkarni has been shot at the Ramoji Rao Studios in Hyderabad.
Speaking about the character of Boman Irani, who is acting for the first time in Benegal's film, Mishra said, "Boman will be seen in a completely different avataar and I'm sure that the audience, especially the young crowd, will take to him."
Benegal's humour
Mishra who recently attended a seminar on Cinema and Literature, which was organised at the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) campus, said that people have notions that Benegal can make only serious films. "His unique sense of humour can be seen in many of his previous films," he added.
Recalling the experience while writing the script for Welcome to Sajjanpur, Mishra said, "It was really a pleasant experience.
In the age of e-mails and SMSes, Benegal managed to hold the audience with seemingly antique forms of communication inland letters and postcards quite beautifully."
He added that Benegal can handle topics like caste and politics that prevail in rural India very well and can make sharp comments on superstitions in a unique way.
