Laptops, cellphones and other electronic items recovered
The Crime Branch of Delhi police busted a betting racket and arrested five persons from south Delhi.
According to the police, they had received a tip off that betting on the cricket match between India and England will take place in a house in East of Kailash.
"Based on the information, police conducted a raid and arrested five persons identified as Kuldeep Jain, Suresh Chand Jain, Ajay Jain, Manoj Jain, and Avdhesh Sharma. Two laptops, 38 phones, one calculator, twou00a0 TVs, one cassette recorder and five notebooks were recovered from them.u00a0
The accused were not taking bets directly. Instead, bets were being taken on their behalf by 32 bookies across the city.u00a0 Thirty-two mobile phones were being used for communicating rates to the bookies," said Ashok Chand, DCP Crime & Railways.
