Bharatlal Meena is the new BBMP commissioner.
S Subramanya,u00a0theu00a0previous commissioner, has been transferred to the agricultural department as principal secretary.u00a0Chief minister B S Yeddyurappa told media "He wanted a transfer," and that there was no confusion on it.
Meena,u00a0who wasu00a0secretary, social welfare department, is considered a motivator and a complete people's person. He is best remembered for his Apna Desh movement where he inspired villagers to improve their districts themselves. Whether as district collector, or as head of BESCOM, Meena has leftu00a0an indellible mark. Since he is considered a citizen's person, disillusioned Bangaloreans can look forward to some quick action.
His first major job as BBMP commissioner will be to tackle the monsoon efficiently and effectively.
