A 55-year-old man was allegedly shot by two bike-borne persons in Tis Hazari area of North Delhi. The incident took place near the local Metro station on Wednesday evening at around 8.30 pm.
The victim was identified as Praveen Nagpal, a resident of Punjabi Bagh area of west Delhi. Praveen is a businessman and owns a shop in Khari Baoli area of Old Delhi.
On Wednesday evening, while returning from his shop, he was shot by the two bike-borne persons. A PCR call was made by eyewitnesses and after this police immediately reached the spot and rushed the victim to the nearby St. Stephen's Hospital where his condition was stated to be critical.
On the run
According to the eyewitness, Guru Bacchan Singh, he was shot three times by the bike-borne persons but only one hit him in the chest. After shooting him the criminals immediately fled from the spot. According to police officials, the reason behind this incident might be robbery because Praveen was carrying a bag and the criminals wanted to snatch it. A case was registered at Sabzi Mandi police station.
