Ramesh Srivats tweeted, ‘I think I'll open a bottle of beer. And say thanks, to the opener.' Rajneesh Particle added: ‘Gavaskar is 63. I expect Sachin to overtake him in 2-3 years.' There was this comment from Gopinath Dhandpani: ‘It took Gavaskar just 13 years to reach 63 after completing 50. This is the fastest score of his career.' In the words of Pranav Sapra: ‘On this joyous occasion, let's lock Ravi Shastri in a lift for all eternity.' And from someone using the handle Stereotypewriter: ‘Wonder why his son Rohan is not on Time magazine's cover. He too is an underachiever!'

Look who's talking
Union Law Minister Salman Khurshid reportedly voiced his disappointment over the lack of ‘ideological direction' from Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi, promptly becoming a trending topic. Sreemoy Talukdar tweeted: ‘Khurshid has been hung out to dry. He should take a few lessons from Pranab Mukherjee on how to manipulate the media.' Akhilesh Mishra had this to say: ‘Supposing you are told to parrot 2 + 2 = 100. Some day you will trip up and say 2 + 2 = 4. That is what happened with Khurshid.' And from Faking News: ‘Khurshid criticized Rahul? This time Sonia Gandhi will see tears in his eyes.'

Bal Thackeray termed Manmohan Singh ‘politically impotent', adding that it was high time the PM and Sonia Gandhi handed over the country to a person with fighting spirit. Milend Singh pointed out: ‘Thackeray, who always opposed western culture, is charged by a Time magazine quote on the PM.'
